Career appointments are available to all CEU students and alumni and offer an opportunity to ask questions, explore ideas, and talk things through with a member of the CEU Career Services Office team.
Types of appointments:
- Career Consultation: 1-on-1 appointment where you can meet with a member of Career Services to ask any questions and get personalized advice.
- Application Clinic: Quick appointment aimed at discussing your application materials and processes such as CVs, cover letters, personal statements, and interview preparation.
- Drop-In Appointment: Starting this fall, every Tuesday from 14:00 - 15:00 in rooms D604-6. No need to book, just show up if you have a quick, career-related question!

Topics for appointments include:
- Identifying your strengths and interest areas
- Exploring possible career paths
- Pursuing opportunities to obtain professionally relevant knowledge and skills through practice-based learning opportunities such as internships and consultancies
- Creating, expanding, and managing your network of personal careers advisors
- Crafting tailored application materials
- Preparing for interviews
- Reviewing your LinkedIn presence
- Conducting salary negotiations
- Making career-related decisions
Where to book appointments:
We are now using the career platform Handshake - please use this link to book a career appointment!
- If you are a current student, you should be able to activate your Handshake account using CEU's single sign-on (SSO)
- If you are alumni who graduated in 2024 or after, use the private email address you provided on your graduation form
- Pre-2024 alumni and those who did not provide a private email on the graduation form need to register before booking an appointment. Note that Handshake will encourage you to provide a .edu email address when registering. If you can't access your CEU alumni email account, please ignore this and use any private email account.
Registrations with CEU alumni email addresses are auto-approved instantly. We are aiming to approve all other registrations within two working days. If you want to book a consultation urgently, email us directly at ceucareers@ceu.edu.
Once logged in to Handshake, you will find the appointment booking options under the Career Centre menu.
Bookings open two weeks in advance, and you can book up to 23 hours prior to a slot. If you have any further questions, please email ceucareers@ceu.edu.

No-show policy: If you do not attend two pre-booked career appointments (online or in person), you will not be allowed to book a new consultation for 4 weeks. Appointments cancelled up to an hour before the start time do not count as no-shows.
